Goodbye 2009

2009 was largely a bad year careerwise which actually started with the possibility of a promotion that didn't push through even as the year is about to end. It was a year of goodbyes to friends who resigned from work and eventually found themselves whisked to other countries finding themselves in an entirely different industry or some who went back to their roots. It was also a year of death in the family with the passing of my aunt and a classmate just before Christmas and still I hear of deaths from friends and officemates. I look back with so much relief that the year is over. However, I will always look back to 2009 with a glint of smile for it was the year I met JUN all because I listened to fabcasts by MGG, CC, McVie, Gibbs, and Tony and I listened well.

To 2010, I promised myself I will own you so be ready as I am already in full throttle.

Marty, the new chapter.

A long time ago, I wrote my thoughts on small giveaway organizers detailing what I did for the day - that was late high school to early college, 6 years ago. In the latter part of my first course, I moved into blogging courtesy of someone who had a spare password- thus redfinch was born.

Redfinch is a name of a street high atop the hills of Victoria Valley of Valley Golf and Country Club where I spent summers with my Tita and cousins who lived with her. That online journal still exist but the memory of that street, of my summer, and of my Tita who has passed away is a distant blur.

Now, I am all grown up living in the slums of ParaƱaque struggling to find his way in the real world. A different person perhaps but always will be the shy boy from the province who still love chocolates and yes boys. =P
